The opposite of love,” said Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry, at a revival in Austin, Texas, “is selfishness.” Bishop Curry roamed the platform in the Palmer Center that sits on the Colorado River in downtown Austin, followed around by Spanish Interpreter, Dinorah Padro, who mirrored Bishop Curry’s movements, tone, and expressions with impeccable precision. 	ROC Episcopal General Convention / Day Three Saturday, July 7, 2018 Following early hearings, Day Three began with TEConversations—Conversations for the Episcopal Church, revolving around “Racial Reconciliation.” Arno Michaelis gave the first of the talks, speaking of his conversion from a life as a “Neo-Nazi Skinned Head.” “No one,” said Michaelis, “ever beat the Nazi out of me; they loved the Nazi out of me.” With these words we were encouraged to reflect on how violence and hate cannot end violence and hate. We need to speak the language of love and forgiveness, said Michaelis, the only way to end the injustices of this world. Read more »

	ROC Episcopal General Convention / Day Two Friday, July 6, 2018 “How do you follow in the way of love in a world that is unloving?” With this question Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry, began his homily for the 79th General Convention of the Episcopal Church’s Opening Eucharist. The jumping off point of his homily was John 15, where Jesus speaks of himself as the vine, and we the branches.
