The terrible act of terror in Pittsburg has shaken all of us. Please remember our Brothers and Sisters in prayer. Leaders from the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester attended a vigil Sunday at Temple B’rith Kodesh.  At such times of unspeakable grief the one thing we can do as Beloved Community is stand in solidarity with those who feel the depth of such hate crimes.
Let us uphold these loved ones who feel the numbing depth of targeted terror in their souls this morning.

Episcopalians Assess Damage from Hurricane Michael’s Destructive Tear Through Southeast

[Episcopal News Service] Episcopalians, congregations and dioceses across the Southeast again are assessing the damage and praying for the best after another powerful hurricane wreaked havoc on the communities in its path.

Last month it was Hurricane Florence, which hit coastal North Carolina hard and also brought wind, rain and flooding to parts of South Carolina and Virginia and cities farther inland. On Oct. 10, Hurricane Michael made landfall near Panama City, Florida, as one of the strongest hurricanes ever to hit the mainland United States.

Back To Church Sunday at Two Saints / photos

The Rev. Keith Patterson and St. Luke & St. Simon Cyrene's offered a unique "Back to Church Sunday" for parishioners and visitors on September 23rd.   Friends enjoyed the accompaniment of a jazz trio during the 10 am service.  Following service, many enjoyed a picnic in the parking lot that included a bouncy castle, which brought fun and enjoyment to kids of all ages.

Convention 87

The theme of the 87th Diocesan Convention of Rochester is becoming “Beloved Community.”

The Most Rev. Michael Curry said: “We who follow Jesus have made a choice to walk a different way: the way of disciplined, intentional, passionate, compassionate, mobilized, organized love intent on creating God’s Beloved Community on earth.”

Priest and Author Henri Nouwen said: “Community grows from the spiritual knowledge that we are alive not for ourselves but for one another.  The question, therefore, is ‘How can we develop and nurture giving hearts?’”
