Marriage Rites ResolutionTuesday, July 10, 2018The House of Deputies voted Monday to approve Resolution B012, Marriage Rites for the Whole Church. This Resolution makes marriage rites available to all persons, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, to be available until the Book of Common Prayer undergoes a comprehensive revision. The resolution also charges the Standing Committee on Liturgy and Music (SCLM) to consider how to make the Catechism and Marriage rites inclusive of the spirit of this resolution. Read more » |

ROC Episcopal General Convention / Day ThreeSaturday, July 7, 2018Following early hearings, Day Three began with TEConversations—Conversations for the Episcopal Church, revolving around “Racial Reconciliation.” Arno Michaelis gave the first of the talks, speaking of his conversion from a life as a “Neo-Nazi Skinned Head.” “No one,” said Michaelis, “ever beat the Nazi out of me; they loved the Nazi out of me.” With these words we were encouraged to reflect on how violence and hate cannot end violence and hate.
