Earlier this year, St. Mark’s Church in Newark and the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester were served in a lawsuit brought under the New York State Child Victims Act, accusing the late Rev. J. Edward Putnam with sexual abuse while he was Rector of St. Mark’s in the mid 1970’s.

The Rev. Keisha Stokes has been appointed Pastoral Leader for Zion Church, Palmyra and Pastoral Associate for St. John’s Church, Canandaigua by the Bishop, with affirmation of the Vestries. You may remember that Keisha's Deacon Ordination was May 17th of this year.

“Keisha, is a rising woman leader in our church. She was raised in our diocese and is promising to be a thoughtful, pastoral and passionate follower of Jesus. I know she will be a terrific leader who empowers others.”  said Bishop Singh.
