Georgia Carney Recognized

Congratulations to the Rev. Georgia Carney, Founder of SewGreen@Rochester, who was honored as the 2023 Hannah G. Solomon Recipient by the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Rochester Section.  The award is presented to an individual who has changed the lives of others through his or her leadership efforts and service.

Georgia said about SewGreen: "When I wrote the grant asking for funding from the National Episcopal Church, my dream was that it would bring people of all walks of life together over a shared love of sewing. This award acknowledges our organization’s ability to embrace and celebrate diversity. Hearing the news each day which emphasizes our cultural and political polarization, I stand committed to building community, creativity, and sustainability through our SewGreen@ Rochester programs."
