As people of faith we pray, reflect, and act when we are afraid.  Like most of you I am worried, confused, terrorized while also experiencing a certain degree of numbness around instances of gun-violence in our country and abroad.  The statistics are staggering in confirming that gun-violence has now become normal.

Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the US led invasion of Afghanistan. There are lessons to learn. The violence around us and within us should cause us to pause and take stock of our participation in projects of objectification. I grieve for our world where we lose sight of the dignity of human beings who are objectified enough to become dispensable. They are refugees, people who live far away, people we take for granted, migrant workers, young black men and women, the Dalits (outcastes) of our world, doctors without borders (victims of collateral damage) or ________ - fill in the blank.

Staffing Changes to Keep Valued Staff, Redefine Priorities

After significant engagement in analysis, technical reviews with Human Resource experts and after prayerful discernment, we have come to a few conclusions as a way to move forward. These conclusions include not making any new hires and not letting go of any of our valued staff, but to redefine priorities.
