Friends,
Today President Trump announced that new CDC guidance will classify houses of worship as “essential,” as he called on governors to allow them to open “right now.” While the importance of gathering in our churches is paramount to our religious faith, we remain committed to reopening in a safe, appropriate, and lawful way. Our Task Force [Thriving in the COVID World] is hard at work putting together the most current guidelines, to assist all of our parishes and missions to prepare for the regathering process. I request that we wait for this guidance and the appropriate time before we take further steps to reopen. I have been very pleased that we have been able to continue our worship virtually and in other safe ways. We should continue to do so in this ever-changing time until we can regather safely. Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!
