Dear saints!

Epiphany greetings and Happy New Year! Grace and peace to you and your household!  I have three things to say in this letter: a word on Epiphany, heads up on two significant leadership events, and a call for prayer.

EPIPHANY!

The sun rises and sets everyday whether you notice it or not. When you do pause to soak it in you end up creating a reverent moment. Revelation is not complete until it is realized. The Gospel writer John speaks to this when he says,

Dear saints,

I hope you and your loved ones have had a restful and joyful Christmastide and a smooth entry into blustery 2018. The Feast of the Holy Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Jan 1) is quickly followed by the Feast of the Epiphany (Jan 6)! Both are equally significant in that they encapsulate the Why—because Jesus saves us from ourselves—and the What—and that is why we invite, not convert, others to follow the Jesus Way or join the Jesus Movement. The star of our life, as the familiar song reminds us, is Jesus who calls us:

Dear saints,

We had a rich 86th Convention of the Diocese. We prayed, engaged, sang, gave, broke bread, celebrated, listened and learned together. Thank you all for your prayers. I thank the delegates, guests and all the leaders for their role in helping us do some good work together. All good wishes and prayers for our elected and appointed bodies as they organize themselves and help govern us. May we steward our relationships as leaders and followers of Christ who move forward together!
