RISE!

RISE IS ON!
June 24 - June 30
Founded by St. Mark's in 1989, and originally known as Creation Week Camp, Rise is a week-long summer camp for youth age 11 (or finished 5th grade) through age 18 (finished 12th grade), and currently takes place at Koinonia Campground in Middlesex, NY.

There is great excitement and renewed commitment by the board based on the gracious support and encouragement of Bishop Singh and Canon Johnnie Ross.  Members of the parish are stepping up to the many volunteer tasks that have always been part of their commitment to this youth camp experience in its’ 29th year.  This year’s camp will include Nature, Music, Improv, Yoga, Visual Arts and New Games.  Campers say they like the opportunity to experience new creative expressions in a safe supportive environment.  The larger outcome is the creation of a community based on positive norms.

Part of the work of St. Mark’s has always been to raise funds for scholarships for those campers who cannot afford the tuition. Donations may be sent to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church P.O. Box 424 Penn Yan, New York, 14527. Registration is open at www.risecreativecamp.org. All youth between 11 and 18 years of age are invited to participate.

This year’s staff includes some familiar faces as well as new friends:

Mind, Body and Spirit -      Keisha Stokes

                   Visual Arts -       Matt Robbins
