Farmworkers Albany Day: Tue, May 23

Farmworker Albany Day (FAD) is an annual day of protest where advocates, farmworker supporters, and workers from different parts of the New York State converge on the state capitol to call for basic labor and human rights for New York State farmworkers. First held in 1995, Farmworker Albany Day has a rich history of opening the eyes of legislators and the public to the injustices that New York State's farmworkers face.

10:00 am - Registration
10:30 am - Orientation 
11:00 am - Press Conference 
11:45 am - Lunch 
12:15 pm - March 
12:30 pm - Rally 
1:15 pm - Visits with Senators
3:30 pm - De-Brief
4:00 pm - Departure


There is some transporation space available.

Brockport: A seven-passenger van will depart from Brockport at 6am. The meeting point is at the Park-and-Ride on Commence Drive, just off of Fourth Section Rd. (Rt 31).  If you need a ride in this van, please contact West Cosgrove at 315-871-4031 or by email to reserve a seat. Also, if anyone is able to drive and offer a ride to others, that would be very helpful. 

Lyons: A mini-bus and a 15-passenger van that will depart from Lyons at 7 am, leaving from the RMM office at 7 Phelps Street. A total of 26 seats are available. If you would like to reserve a seat in one of these vehicles, please contact West Cosgrove at 315-871-4031 or by email.  The vehicles will also make stops at the Exit 42 Park-and-Ride on the the NYS Thruway and pick up passengers.  The vehicles will arrive and depart from the Park-and-Ride at 7:15 am. 

Syracuse: If you live in the Syracuse area and would like a ride, a vehicle can also make a stop at one of the Park-and-Rides off the Thruway near Syracuse. If you would like a ride, you must reserve your seat by contacting West Cosgrove at 315-871-4031 or by email. West will confirm that a seat is reserved for you by sending you a confirmation email.
