Convention confirms new Treasurer

The 84th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester has confirmed Terry Butwid of Christ Church, Pittsford, to serve as the treasurer of the Diocese for a five-year term. The Bishop and Standing Committee nominated Butwid.

Butwid earned his MBA from American University and studied at the Tuck School, Dartmouth College. He was the Executive Vice President and a Principal at Conifer Realty, and was the president of Conifer Management. He has experience in corporate banking and investment.

In addition to his vestry membership at Christ Church, Butwid chaired the previous rector search committee. He is a board member for Holy Childhood, a past president of the Country Club of Rochester, and a former board member of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities.

Butwid and his wife Terryl live in Pittsford. They have two daughters.

Bob Van Niel, Treasurer of the Diocese for the past 14 years, will be stepping down from his duties after this year's Diocesan Convention. We are grateful for his service to Christ exemplified by his deep faith and gentle wisdom.
